Eligibility Criteria for First Year admission:
The admissions to first year Engineering will be based on the JEE and XII (HSC) or equivalent examination marks from A.Y.2014-15, where in the weightage for each examination i.e. JEE (main) and XII (HSC) will be 50%. The merit list shall be prepared based on the said criteria. Central government shall be conducting JEE in two parts viz. main and advanced. The students those who want admission in any engineering college in Maharashtra should appear for main examination and it is not necessary for them to appear for advance examination. The student who wants to try admission at IIT, NIT shall appear for advanced examination. Student may appear for either or both the examination as per their interest.
The 50% weightage for XII examination is for the marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) taken together and the he/she should have passed HSC along with the condition that candidate should have45% marks to PCM in HSC examination as eligibility criteria (40% for backward class candidates). The candidate who will get less than 50% marks in PCM in HSC examination will not be eligible for admission to First year Engineering. The equivalence of marks obtained by the students passing out from various boards via CBSE/ICSE/STATE etc. shall be done as per the normalized percentile method of Indian statistical institute.
